Fruit Children Do a Little Dance

Today I found this lovely little gem. It's little girls dressed up as fruit, dancing in a supermarket. I think it's some sort of music video??? Or possibly some sort of footage used for a commercial??? I have no idea, it's very cute though. And their expressions are so kawaiiiiiiiii! Very talented dancers.

K Drama - Boys Over Flowers

Alternate Names:Boys Before Flowers
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 25
Network: KBS2
Broadcasted: 2009-Jan-05 to 2009-Mar-31
Lead Actors: Lee MinHo, Goo Hye Sun, Kim Hyun Joong, Kim Bum, Kim Joon, Kim So Eun

My Rating: ♥♥♥.5/5

So so so HUGE in Korea! I mean, it's still probably one of the most top rated Korean Dramas out there. I mean, it's to the point of iconic and it has boosted the popularity of it's actors sky high. Lee Min Ho (City Hunter) is one the hottest and most talented actors out there! I mean he plays a hot headed spoiled brat pretty well but I liked him better as a secret assassin in City Hunter better. It also took Kim Hyun Joon of SS501 and made him an actor and boosted Kim Bum's (The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry) acting career. And look at rookie actress, Goo Hye Sun, she definitely got more attention and hype. She's not doing too much right now, except staring in the Taiwanese drama "Absolute Boyfriend."

This drama is based on the shoujo Japanese manga, "Boys Before Flowers" by Hana Yori Dango and like a said, was a huge success in Korea. They actually offer Korean tours based on the filming of this drama! I hear it's very popular with Japanese tourists... O.o There's also a Japanese and Taiwanese version to this drama.

Basic Synopsis:JanDi is the daughter of a family who owns a dry cleaning business near the elite school Shin Hwa College. When she saves a student from committing suicide she's admitted on a full scholarship for swimming. There the infamous F4 (Flower Boys- beautiful men) rule the school. JanDi does all she can to stay out of their way until she is forced to wage war on them when her friends gets ice cream on the leader of F4, Goo Joon Pyo.

A.W.W. [ OTAKU ]

pronounced: oh-tah-kew

Defined by UrbanDictionary.Com:

1. Otaku is a Japanese word for house. 2. Refers to someone who has a devotion to a subject or hobby (not necessarily anime) to the point of not leaving home.

Examples:

Who is that guy??? I really loves Jessica Alba, is he an otaku?

Oh my god, AnimeCon is coming to town, let the otakus see daylight.

For me, otakus are crazy anime and manga people who cosplay/obsess over Japanese culture. They collect Pokemon, Yugioh cards and even play geek stuff like Magic cards. So yes it extends to more than just Asian things. They're White, Black, Asian anyone who is overly obsessed!

K-Pop Obsession: Sunny Hill's Is the White Horse Coming?

So many great music videos are coming out this month! I'm still laughing over Girl's Day "Oh My God" music video! LOLz! And B.A.P. is coming back with their new single "Power" this Friday! What's even better is my favorite group, Sunny Hill has comeback with "Is the White Horse Coming?" I'm soooooo happy they're back and they do not disappoint. Sunny Hill always likes to change up their style and be totally different from what the K-pop world is doing. Is the White Horse Coming? questions/makes fun of the "prince charming" or "lovely princess" ideal. You rock Sunny Hill!!!

K Drama - My Lovely Sam Soon

Alternate Names:My Name is Kim Sam Soon
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2005-Jun-01 to 2005-Jul-21
Lead Actors: Kim Sun Ah, Hyun Bin, Jeong Ryeo Won, Daniel Henney

My Rating: ♥♥♥/5

It's been a while since I lasted posted about a Korean drama, I really loved "The Moon Embracing the Sun" so here it goes!

My Lovely Sam Soon is one of the classic dramas that everyone seems to have seen at one point. Don't get it mixed up with My Sassy Girl, totally different. They call this show the "Bridget Jones Diary" of Korea and it certainly has those elements. I hate Bridget Jones by the way, maybe it's that comedy or maybe it's just Renee Zellweger's squinty eyes. But the actress Kim Sun Ah (Scent of a Woman) actually gained weight for this part, she is really talented.

Basic Synopsis:Kim Sam Soon is a talented baker who's luck with guys is very bad. After finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her on Christmas Eve and then breaking up with him that same night, she runs into Hyun Jin Heon. Who hires her as a baker for his restaurant and proposes she be his fake girlfriend to get his mother off his back.

A.W.W. [ GANGURO ]

pronounced: gang-goo-roh

Defined by:

1. An alternative fashion trend of blonde or orange hair and tanned skin among young Japanese women. 2. The term is a portmanteau of the Japanese word gangankuro "ガンガン黒", meaning extremely dark, and guro "グロ", meaning grotesque, and the word ganguro translates to "blackface" or "charbroiled face", meaning heavily-sunburned face.

Examples:

Oh my...your girlfriend is a ganguro...

Can we please dress up as ganguros for Halloween!

The Ganguro fashion scene is quite intense. Orange clown make-up and bright neon hair has never looked so terrifying. I wonder what it's like taking all that off at the end of the night??? Young teenage women take on this look in rebellion to traditional Japanese society. You can find many Ganguro's in Tokyo's Shibuya and Ikebukuro districts. There are even guy version of Ganguros! I think they're called "center guys?" O.o

K-Pop Obsession: Girl's Day Oh My God

OH MY GOSH! It's Girl's Day! Back with a music video that carries on from "Twinkle Twinkle." And it is hilarious! I love in the beginning how she grabs that guys face (teheeheeheehee). These girls are hilarious, they're really good a slapstick! Some of the worst Engrish I've ever heard, but the song is catchy and the video is so funny!
