Genre:Fantasy
Episodes:20
Network: SBS
Broadcasted:March 16, 2011 - May 19, 2011
Lead Actors: Lee Yo Won, Nam Gyu Ri, Jung Il Woo, Jo Hyun Jae, Bae Soo Bin
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥/5
After seeing lead actress, Lee Yo Won, in the historical drama "The Great Queen Seonduck" it's hard to picture her acting in a modern drama. I don't think she's the typical korean beauty but I do recognize her as a very talented actress. I still think she is way too skinny! Just take a look at her legs! Sticks! Sticks I tell ya!
Like any other Korean drama, this storyline is just one twist of plot line after another. To explain it to someone would only confuse them further, so what I always tell people is, "You have to watch it from the beginning!" There is no use trying to explain it to someone unless you basically want to tell the story from beginning to end with every little detail. It is a fantasy drama involving reapers, corporate take over and lost love.
Basic Synopsis:Two completely different women find themselves caught together by a premature accident involving Ji Hyun. She has the perfect life, loving parents, a best friend and fiance when she falls into a coma and becomes a ghost walking the earth, learning the terrible secrets about her so called "perfect life." She is given 49 days to find three people who would truly cry for her so she can have a second chance at life.

K Drama - Oh! My Lady
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: SBS
Broadcasted: 2010-Mar-22 to 2010-May-11
Lead Actors: Chae Rim, Choi Siwon, Lee Hyun Woo, Park Han Byul
My Rating: ♥♥♥/5
Nothing too different than most Korean Romances...but it does have Choi Siwon from Super Junior in it...LOL. Not the biggest fan of SUJU (don't kill me ELFS!) or Siwon for that matter (please don't kill me) but I thought he was okay in it. I think there was a shower scene in it??? I can't remember but there are definitely scenes with him shirtless. The ex-husband is a douche-bag, I really hope most people aren't as cruel and heartless as he was in this drama...man...
I don't know what it is but there's just something so cute and attractive about a good-looking man with his daughter at the zoo!
Basic Synopsis:Thirty-five year old, Yoon Gae Hwa is a spunky and hardworking mother who recently divorced from her cheating husband. Working as a housekeeper can only get her by so much as she fights to get the custody of her little girl. After a couple of odd coincidences, she becomes the housekeeper and manager of the popular singer/actor Min Woo.

K Drama - What's Up, Fox?
Alternate Names:Hey Fox, What do you want to do?
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2006-Sep-20 to 2006-Nov-09
Lead Actors: Ko Hyun Jung, Kim Eun Joo, Chun Jung Myung, Son Hyu Joo
My Rating: ♥♥♥/5
I saw this a long time ago, the lead actress Ko Hyun Jung (The Great Queen Seonduck) is not someone who I think is particularly amazing, she's beautiful but I think she looks way better in historical dramas. When I saw her in "The Great Queen Seonduck" I thought, "she looks very familiar...where have I seen her?!" And I'm just realizing now, it was from this drama! In "Queen Seonduck", Ko Hyun Jung plays the clever villian, Misil...in "What's Up, Fox?" she plays a writer for a men's porn magazine?! So drastic!
This drama toys with the older woman, younger man relationship. But what makes it realistic is, the actors really look like the age they are portraying. There is a lot more persecution and hardships for this couple. One moment the female leads mother is loving this guy who is like a young son to her the next, she's hitting him and kicking him out when she finds out he's dating her older daughter?! It's like WTF?!
Basic Synopsis:Single, 33 year-old Go Byeong Hee works as a reporter for a sex magazine. She wants more romance and a more respectable life, but isn't sure how to get it. Twenty four year-old Park Chul Su, mechanic and world traveler, is the younger brother of Byeong Hee's best friend. He's a free spirit and not concerned with what the world thinks. One night the two old family friends get drunk and wake up in bed together. Go Byeong Hee wants to forget it ever happened, especially since a good marriage prospect has just made an appearance. Unfortunately for her, Chul Su has other ideas....
(Oh yes, and in Korea women who are troublesome/man-hungry etc. are compared to foxes while men are compared to wolves).
Genre: Romance, Comedy

Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2006-Sep-20 to 2006-Nov-09

K Drama - My Princess
Alternate Names:I Love My Princess
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2011-Jan-05 to 2011-Feb-24
Lead Actors: Song Seung Hun, Kim Tae Hee, Park Ye Jin, Ryu Soo Young
My Rating: ♥♥♥/5
This is yet another drama that uses the idea of Constitutional Monarchy in South Korea. A lot of the same themes of "rags to riches" and "sacrifice for the greater good" are beaten to death. Yes, if you become a princess you sacrifice freedom and love so you can devote yourself to representing and helping you country. I'm kinda tired of these similar dramas.
The ending is very "meh" but I don't know how you would really end it. The lead actress Kim Tae Hee (IRIS) looks very similar to Secret's maknae "Blank head" Han Sunhwa.
Basic Synopsis:Lee Seol is one of two adopted daughters of a single mother who comes to find out she's actually the princess of Korea! She think she hits the jackpot with fabulous eats and a huge closet. But being a princess is not what it's cracked up to be with endless studying and crooked politics.

Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2005-Jun-01 to 2005-Jul-21
Lead Actors: Kim Sun Ah, Hyun Bin, Jeong Ryeo Won, Daniel Henney
My Rating: ♥♥♥/5
It's been a while since I lasted posted about a Korean drama, I really loved "The Moon Embracing the Sun" so here it goes!
My Lovely Sam Soon is one of the classic dramas that everyone seems to have seen at one point. Don't get it mixed up with My Sassy Girl, totally different. They call this show the "Bridget Jones Diary" of Korea and it certainly has those elements. I hate Bridget Jones by the way, maybe it's that comedy or maybe it's just Renee Zellweger's squinty eyes. But the actress Kim Sun Ah (Scent of a Woman) actually gained weight for this part, she is really talented.
Basic Synopsis:Kim Sam Soon is a talented baker who's luck with guys is very bad. After finding out her boyfriend was cheating on her on Christmas Eve and then breaking up with him that same night, she runs into Hyun Jin Heon. Who hires her as a baker for his restaurant and proposes she be his fake girlfriend to get his mother off his back.

Drama - The Moon that Embraces the Sun
Alternate Names: The Sun and the Moon
Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Period
Episodes: 20
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2012-Jan-04 to 2012-Mar-15
Lead Actors: Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, Jung Il Woo, Kim Min Seo
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥/5
Loved this drama! Usually period dramas are too long and hystorically heavy for me to really get into, but this has just the right amount of historical and romantic drama to make it perfect! It's also had record breaking ratings in Korea!
You have black magic, political struggle, romance, sword fighting and enough tears to keep you tightly glued to the screen. Not to mention one of my favorite male actors Kim Soo Hyun (Dream High)!!! It's a Korean remake of Romeo and Juliet, except Romeo and Juliet don't die...Spoilers! This is one of the few dramas that make me cry, I mean really cry...tears down my face! T^T. It's fictional so don't take this story as a real story of the Joseon era, so I shouldn't say it's really historical, just a period piece.
Basic Synopsis:The future kind of Joseon falls in love with Heo Yeon Yoo and makes her his future queen. Jealous and driven by power, Yeon Yoo's enemies cast an evil spell on her that almost takes her life. Eight years later she comes back as Shaman Wol, with no recollection of her past. It's when she meets the king that her memory starts to come back.

Drama - Scent of a Woman
Genre: Romance

Lead Actors: Kim Sun Ah, Lee Dong Wook, Uhm Ki Joon, Seo Hyo Rim

I've been off my posting cycle for a while. So I apologize to the three people who possibly read these posts about Korean dramas (ᄏᄏᄏᄏ). I've been busy and occupied with life so I'm going to be trying to get back on track, as well as adding a new feature. ^-^
The title Scent of a Woman doesn't really seem to fit the story of this drama. I feel like it should've been something along the lines of...My Happy Life or something ridiculous like that. The title is a bit misleading, it might lead some people to think of it as something else entirely. The story starts out very humorously, a woman falls into a giant bowl of food in front of her boss (embarrassing!)! But then it starts to get more and more depressing and serious. In the beginning, I didn't care much of the actor Lee Dong Wook's looks, but by the end of it, I think he has a charm all his own. Kim Sun Ah (My Lovely Sam Soon) is a wonderful actress but her lips have always bothered me...I sound so superficial but I just end up looking at her face. I wish she was portrayed as beautiful as she is on the promotional poster. There are moments in this drama that you just say to yourself, "Argggh! I wish that would happen to me!"
Basic Synopsis:Lee Yeon Jae is a hardworking clerk at a travel agency who doesn't don't seem to value her contribution. She's taken advantage of, overworked and hasn't had the chance to enjoy much of life. It's when she is diagnosed with cancer and told she only has 6 months to live, that she gets the courage to quit her job and start doing the things she always wanted to do. This is how she meets Kang Ji Wook, the son of her company's boss. They fall in love with each other despite her deadly diagnosis but have to deal with the consequences around them.

Drama - Dream High
Genre: School, Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: KBS2
Broadcasted: 2011-Jan-03 to 2011-Feb-28
Lead Actors: Suzy(MissA), Kim Soo Hyun, Taecyeon(2PM), Ham Eun Jung(T-Ara), Wooyoung(2PM), IU
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥/5
Dream High is one of those dramas just jam packed with idols (hence the popularity). Even the illustrious JYP has a recurring role. The only non-idol is actor Kim Soo Hyun (Moon Embracing the Sun), who, by any means can be an idol if he really wanted. I mean it, he's seriously talented singer and actor. I'm also really liking him in the period drama he's in right now.
As I mentioned earlier, JYP has a recurring role in this drama as the English teacher. Looking at him, he has a real mean gangsta face, but he does all this ridiculous stuff like scratch his butt and dance around. And did anyone notice that most of his scenes involve him carrying around stacks stuff around all the time (???). Sigh... Another thing I noticed is, it must've been super cold in this school. I can see everyone's breathe! Does heat not exist in this school?!
Basic Synopsis:Kirin High School is an elite art school that is known for making successful performers and idols. Go Hyemi doesn't want anything to do with it until her father's debt collectors force her to attend to monopolize on her signing talent. There she meets/rivals/loves her fellow talents and rising stars of the school. They face their own personal setbacks and pressure of others to achieve their dreams of becoming international stars.

Drama - Sungkyunkwon Scandal
Genre: Period, Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 20

Broadcasted: 2010-Aug-30 to 2010-Nov-02
Lead Actors: Micky Yoochun, Park Min Young, Song Joong Ki, Yoo Ah In
My Rating: ♥♥♥.5/5
So...looking for a period drama that's not 50 episodes long??? Looking for a beautiful heroine? And a story line about a cross-dressing woman?! Than this is the drama for you! I thoroughly enjoyed this series, even though it follows the basic plot of "girl cross dresses as man to make a better life." I think, since it seemed a lot more daunting to be caught in this kind of situation (F.Y.I. you get killed) the stakes are a lot higher and more real.
This is one of those dramas that question homosexuality. Especially during that period, being homosexual was basically a death sentence. You can't expect to make a living as a serious scholar or politician. Micky struggles with himself when he catches himself falling in love with Min Young and despite not knowing she's actually a girl, he chooses her. Wahhh! T^T
Basic Synopsis:Sungkyunkwon University is representative of the best and brightest of the late Joseon era. Kim Yoon Hee is an intelligent girl who decides to attend the university under her brothers name in order to support her sick and ailing family. There she meets three of her fellow classmates who pave the way for an upright society and support her even when they discover she's actually a girl.

Drama - Playful Kiss
Alternate Names: Mischievous Kiss
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: September 1, 2010 till October 21, 2010
Lead Actors: Jung So Min, Kim Hyun Joong, Lee Tae Sung, Lee Si Young
My Rating: ♥.5/5
This drama gets the lowest score in the history of dramas!!!!! Actually, just the dramas I've seen so far. I'm surprised I even made it through the whole thing...This series is based on the manga Itazura Na Kiss by Tada Kaoru (I've haven't read it). Kim Hyun Joong (SS501) plays the lead as the cool, mean guy who falls for the stupid and dorky female lead. I guess this was the drama that followed Kim Hyun Joong's success in Boys Over Flowers but has no where near the amount of quality put into it. This drama didn't fair too well in Korea...
First thing, this sets a bad example for all the female drama watchers in Korea. I hope to god girls don't actually act this way and mothers aren't actually this nosey in their son's love lives. Basically, this girl never really grows up, she falls in love with a guy she barely knows and by some very weird circumstances she manages to end up living with him. She is so annoying!!!!! She acts like a baby!!!! I hope guys in Korea don't find this personality "cute." This show basically says if you follow the guy around and have the help of his annoying mother, you can get him. Ugh, gross.
Basic Synopsis:Oh Ha Ni is a stupid and clumsy girl who has a crush on the popular and genius student named, Baek Seung Jo, ever since she saw him on the first day of high school. She decides to confess through a letter, but is rejected by Seung Jo, who tells her that he hates stupid girls (yes!). Fate intervenes when a mild earthquake ruins Ha Ni's family's new house. While the house gets rebuilt, Ha Ni and her father stay at the home of her dad's childhood friend, who happens to be Seung Jo's father. The drama continues with portraying Seung Jo and Ha Ni moving onto college and university, whilst facing many difficulties and problems, in which eventually lead Seung Jo to fall for Ha Ni.

Genre: Music, Romance, Drama

Lead Actors: Kim Jung Eun, Lee Jun Hyuk, Kim Seung Su

Ok so no. There are no vampires. It doesn't take place in New York and there is no Will Smith. Let's get this straight from the start. It has absolutely no affiliation to the movie, it literally translates to I Am Legend.
I particularly liked this drama because it didn't follow the typical pretty boy/girl love story. In fact, there's not really much of the typical romance. I think the theme of older women going on to find a dream in their 30's is a recurring and often looked down upon thing in both cultures. Older women are supposed to take care of the children and be concerned about family, not pursuing a hard to reach dream of starting up a rock band. This drama really shows the hardships and prejudices these women face in a reality that I think is not too different.
This drama also has one of the most evil mother-in-law characters I've seen. I mean, this family she married into is soooooooo evil. They are ARROGANT and complete ASSHOLES. I was surprised she didn't get a divorce sooner. They did not like her so they treated her cruelly and then when she wanted a divorce, they wouldn't give it to her! All because they said it would ruin their reputation! Arghhh! I hate that! Ugh! So it is a terrible terrible battle in and out of court for her freedom.
Basic Synopsis:Jun Seol Hee is trapped in a horrible marriage with her uncaring husband and his awful family. She can't take it anymore and decides to divorce him to get back to her roots as a rock band guitar player. But it's not so easy to divorce and go their own ways. The arrogance of his family lead the two divorcees through a terrible trial...

Drama - Brilliant Legacy
Alternate Names: Shining Inheritance/Beautiful Legacy
Genre: Family, Romance
Episodes: 28

Lead Actors: Lee Seung Ki, Han Hyo Joo, Bae Soo Bin, Moon Chae Won

Happy Lunar New Years!!! Yay!
So this was one of the longer and complicated dramas I've seen so far. It also has one of the most evil stepmother character I've ever seen! I mean, she kicks out her stepdaughter and her autistic brother out onto the street when their only family dies! Who the eff does that?! Anyways, the story line is so complicated and twisted I'm not even going to try to explain. What you need to know is there is an EVIL stepmother, not exactly evil stepsister, father faking his death, spoiled brat guy, and a rich grandmother who has a horrible money grubbing family. I mean that family is horrible, I would not leave them a dime.
Of course, I love Lee Seung Ki because he looks like my younger brother...
Basic Synopsis:Go Eun Seung is a hot tempered girl who comes home from studying abroad to visit her father, brother and extended family. She gets her luggage mixed up with the spoiled rich boy, Sun Woo Hwang, that leads to complications and heated fights. This is when Go Eun Seung's father is mistakingly pronounced dead and her evil step mother kicks out her and her autistic brother out onto the streets...

I just finished this drama a couple days ago and I've got to say, it is one of the best I've seen yet. It has action, guns, romance, and best of all...Lee MinHo! There was some of the best action sequences I've ever seen in a drama. Most of the time it's pretty lame musical dance-fighting technique. I read somewhere that Lee Minho practiced martial arts and stunts months before they even started filming. I'm impressed.
And I've always like Park Min Young (Sungkyunkwan Scandal) she's beautiful and very talented actress. She plays a bodyguard to the President and his daughter in the Blue House (equivalent to the White House). It's kinda cool that in the drama she's a level 4 Taekwondo master, but she's seriously lacking other skills required of a bodyguard. Like say, shooting a modern gun or maybe having common sense about a break-in at your apartment?! I guess that's just me...but how do you safeguard the president when you can't effectively protect yourself? To be fair, she does redeem herself a couple times.
Basic Synopsis: Lee Yoon Sung has been raised ever since he was an infant to take revenge for the deaths of 20 secret opts men, including his father. Finding and dealing his own brand of revenge on the five responsible political figures in Seoul has been everything but easy. Including bullet wounds, espionage and even love...

Episodes: 16
Network: SBS

Lead Actors: Park Shin Hye, Lee Hong Ki, Jung Yong Hwa, Jang Geun Suk, Uee

Awwwwww, the start of the New Year and the first drama I want to feature is You're Beautiful!!!! Awwwww, takes me back...one of the first girly Korean dramas for me. So wonderful! So fresh! So exciting! Both leaders of FT Island and CNBlue are main characters! This is the first time I ever saw them and why I got into their music.
With that, the storyline is very typical. Girl cross-dresses as a boy, falls in love with bad boy while nice guy loses out. Add that they're all in a band and you have an drama filled chaos that involves music and paparazzi. This is a drama that really launched the careers of everyone involved, both CN Blue and FT Island have been doing great in the music scene and you always see Jang Geun Suk and Park Shin Hye in other movies/dramas as well as commercials. And the fictional band in the drama, A.N.Jell, really does have a fan group too! For a while I was signing, "I will promise you~~~~~~" around the house for a while.
Basic Synopsis: Go Mi Nyeo grew up with her twin brother, Go Mi Nam, at an orphanage of a Nunnery. She is trying to become a nun when her brother's chance to make it big as an idol is threatened by a botched eye surgery. She agrees to stand in his place because as an idol they both might have a better chance at finding their mother.

Drama - Lie to Me
Genre: Romance, Comedy
Episodes: 16
Network: SBS
Broadcasted: May 9, 2011 - June 28, 2011
Lead Actors: Yoon Eun Hye, Kang Ji Hwan, Sung Joon, Cho Youn Hee

So I just finished this drama yesterday. It's been a while since I've really been "into" a drama. It all started when I thought I'd just watch the first episode to see if it was anything like the American "Lie to Me." Gotta say, the two are not even close. Lol. Plus my favorite actress Yoon Eun Hye is in it, so I instantly fell in love. Add the fact that you can watch all 16 episodes for free on Hulu and you've got a deal!
With that said there are a few minor things that bother me... The characters don't really develop at all! Even a main character's story line seems to be forgotten and loose ends left to hang. The drama moves from hilarious and witty female lead to mushy, unrealistic romance. No one really believes you can fall in love so deeply so quickly. Now it seems like every Korean drama there is always a really rich guy and a poor female. I am dying for something different! Pleaseeeeeee! And get this, the song Kung Fu Fighting, is used in it. I thought it was so out of place that I just bursted out laughing! No! No! No!
Basic Synopsis: It all starts when Ministry of Culture official, Gong Ah Jung lies to her friend to get back her that she's married. Little does she know her lie leads to her friends thinking she's married to CEO of World Hotel Hyun Ki Joon! To keep up the lie, Ah Jung has to convince Hyun Ki Joon to play along. All of which results in hilarious and romantic situations.

Drama - My Girlfriend is Nine-Tailed Fox
Alternate Names: My Girlfriend is a Gumiho
Genre: Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Episodes: 16
Network: SBS
Broadcasted: 2010-Aug-11 to 2010-Sep-30
Lead Actors: Lee Seung Ki, Shin Min Ah, No Min Woo, Park Soo Jin
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥/5
This is probably my second favorite Korean drama of all time! It made me laugh, it made me cry, it made me copy her hairstyle! I forced my younger sister to watch it with me a second time and I got her hooked on it! Even though it follows the spoiled rich guy falls in love with girl theme, I really thought the drama had a real sense of fun and fantasy! As some of you already know, I love Lee Seung Ki, partly because I think he looks like my younger brother, but I thought he was also very good in "Brilliant Inheritance."
This drama is produced by the same people who did "He's Beautiful" so there is no skimping on locations, wardrobe or CGI effects. Plus there are cameos made by Uee, Lee Hong Ki and Park Shin Hye! Awesome!
Basic Synopsis: Cha Dae Woong is living his spoiled life of a wannabe actor/stuntman when he nearly get's himself killed running away from his grandfather. He releases the spirit of a trapped nine-tailed fox from an ancient painting and in return she loans him her magic orb (which heals him). Dae Woong is scared to death she might eat him, but all Miho wants is to become a normal human being.

Drama - Cinderella's Sister
Alternate Names: Cinderella's Stepsister, A Modern Story of Revenge
Genre: Melodrama
Episodes: 20
Network: KBS2
Broadcasted: 2010-Mar-31 to 2010-Jun-03
Lead Actors: Moon Geun Young, Seo Woo, Chun Jung Myung, Taecyeon
My Rating: ♥♥♥.5/5
This drama was the first Korean drama I've ever watched! This series doesn't typically follow the sappy, comical romance of the other dramas I've reviewed. It's actually quite moody and depressing...but saved because of some scenes with great acting. That said, there is a lot of over-acting, crying, and melodramatic music.
The entire drama follows a loose interpretation of the story of Cinderella. There is an evil stepmother, a stepsister and a "Cinderella." Now throw the fairytale story into the modern world and you have a perfect drama filled with lies, revenge, jealousy and one-sided love. But like all the other dramas, it can get slow and the characters frustrating. And the one character I like dies!!!
Basic Synopsis: Eun Jo grew up on the run with a gold-digging mother. It's not until her mother meets the father of young girl Goo Hyu Sun and marries him does Eun Jo start to realize how evil her own mother is. Eun Jo is dark, unfriendly and out-of-place in her new home where her stepsister, Hyu Sun, is adored, worshipped and spoiled. The family business is making traditional wine and the sisters grow up with the dramas of betrayal and happiness in love and business.
Genre: Melodrama
Episodes: 20
Network: KBS2
Broadcasted: 2010-Mar-31 to 2010-Jun-03
Lead Actors: Moon Geun Young, Seo Woo, Chun Jung Myung, Taecyeon

KIM JAE WOOK! KIM JAE WOOK! SARANGHAE!!!
*COUGH**COUGH*
First things, first. Sorry for not posting this on Drama Sunday, today I actually have the urge to write and research a bit. So so sorry! (I actually said that with a stereotypical Asian accent). Last week I was talking about Coffee Prince and how I love the Korean/Japanese actor Kim Jae Wook. Yay! In Mary Stayed out all Night, he actually gets a leading role! Yay! Yay! Yay! As one of the leading lady's love interest. Playing his rival, is the famous Jang Geun Suk (He's Beautiful etc.) who, although I find to be a good actor and musician, has a very weird smile that I don't feel is at all attractive. Jang Geun Suk is always playing the role of a singer/musician in dramas...I really want to see him break out of the mold and into something else. I have yet to see him in his latest movie, You're my Pet...I think it will be funny.
Once again, nice guys never get the girl. T^T Only the moody, meanie heads with jealously issues. And like any other Korean drama there are so many twists and complications that it's hard to explain to anyone who isn't a fanatic about Korean dramas. I am impressed with the lead character, Mae Ri. She's unusual in the fact that she doesn't follow the stereotypical jealous/clueless girl. She's actually intelligent, speaks her mind, and is understanding of all the people she interacts with. I can't say the same with all the other characters, but it is none-the-less interesting.
Basic Synopsis: Wi Mae Ri is the daughter of a father who has to constantly run around to escape from his debtors. When he runs into an old friend who promises to erase his debts only if Mae Ri marries his son, Jung In. To escape her fate, Mae Ri pretends to marry indie singer, Moo Kyul, who she first met by hitting with her car. Chaos ensues and Mae Ri is forced to split her time between the two men for a hundred days and choose who she wants to marry.

Network: KBS2

Lead Actors: Yoon Eun Hye, Gong Yoo, Lee Sun Gyun, Chae Jung Ahn
My Rating: ♥♥♥♥/5
Coffee Prince! Coffee Prince! Coffee Prince! I love Coffee Prince! I think I've already said this in previous drama posts but I love watching anything with actress Yoon Eun Hye. I just think she is good whether it is as a girl, boy, good, evil, sexy, cute anything! I just love her and as far as gender bender drama actresses I think she is far better than Park Shin Hye.
The drama follows the basic poor woman, rich man with gender bender spin to it, but I tend to love girly things like that. It also has actor Kim Jae Wook, who I think is super dreamy... And get this, in the drama he also speaks Japanese, makes waffles and wears black nail polish. I swear to god he is the reason why I started wearing black nail polish (I know what drama I'm going to do next weeeeeekkkk!!!). Oh yeah and because it is Yoon Eun Hye, the kissing/do it scenes are soooo much better, she is actually one of the few actresses who actually kiss back. Way to go! Love ya gal!
Basic Synopsis: Go Eun Chan, a Tae Kwon Do instructor, gives up her feminine image and lives her life with multiple jobs trying to pay off the debts of her family. Choi Han Gyul is a rich grandson of a huge food company who is forced to go on dates because of his grandmother. Han Gyul mistakes Eun Chan as a man and pays her to play his gay lover to fend off the blind dates. Han Gyul is then forced to take over a coffee shop going under and turn it into a profitable business. Eun Chan ends up with a job at the coffee shop but must keep her gender a secret. Romantic scenarios start to make everyone in the shop question his sexuality.
There's no trailer video for you guys this week because there is no good ones!!! Let me know if you have one.

Alternate Names: You've Fallen for Me / Festival

Episodes: 15
Network: MBC
Broadcasted: 2011-Jun-29 to 2011-Aug-18
Lead Actors: Jung Yong Hwa, Park Shin Hye, So Yi Hyun, Song Chan Ui
My Rating: ♥♥♥/5
It's Sunday and that means we're already back to the drama of the week! This weeks edition features MBC's Heartstrings. This drama aired August 2011 and had a fairly popular rating. For me one of the biggest draws was that two characters were played by members of CNBlue!!! Yay! Love love love CNBlue and Yonghwa (Male Lead) and Minyuk (Supporting) are my favorites!
Even with the CNBlue members I still gave this drama a 3/5 because I found something to be a little lacking. I don't know what it is with Korean dramas but there is always this excessive amount of suffering; for the characters and viewers! Why must everyone suffer so much before it gets better?! Agh! The chemistry between the lead characters, Younghwa and Park Shin Hye, was really awkward to me. I know in real life they are like, best friends, so it must've been weird to have kissing scenes with your friend. In general, I think Korean drama kisses are strange and uncomfortable. The girl is always has her eyes open and their lips never move...weird...
I liked how they integrated Yonghwa's singing/playing talents and Park Shin Hye's singing and dancing into the drama. I also found the style of wardrobe to be very unique and cool.
Basic Synopsis: On a university campus, two very opposite people manage to run into each other. One, Lee Shin is passionately studying modern music and playing as the lead guitarist in his band "The Stupid" while Lee Kyu Won diligently practices traditional music on her gayageum. Lee Shin is cold and distant while Kyu Won is energetic and outgoing, yet somehow they seem to be smitten with each other as they work through the complications of the university's anniversary musical.
